I'm not much one for journalling but I wanted some kind of informal way to share things on this site without having to make a whole page dedicated to it, so that's what I'm using this for.

I've been sitting at my desk for most of the day working on a few pages for this site, my desk has a view of our balcony and every so often I get to see and hear the baby pigeons on our balcony. This is the second set of babies Mom and Dad pigeon have raised on our balcony and we are so honoured, did you know pigeons always use the samenesting site if they're able? So we get to look forward to many sets of babies on our balcony.

It's been very cool watching these lil guys grow, they've gone from tiny mold spores that remind me of muppets, to ugly potatoes, to actual mini pigeons!Now that they've grown big enough to move around on their own they mostly hide between some pots on the balcony, I don't know if it's because they know we're here and they're scared of us, or if they're hiding from the cold as it's currently -10C here and has been lower in the past week.

I was initially worried that the babies wouldn't make it, when the eggs were first laid tempuratures were dropping below -20C (welcome to northern Canada), but Mom and Dad put a lot of work and time into keeping them warm and it paid off! Babies are close to maturing now and will probably be fully grown in the next month or so!

If anyone has any name suggestions for Mom and Dad I'd love to hear them, I'm not great at coming up with names myself and my wife doesn't have any suggestions at the moment.
